A.R. Photography Consulting Inc. was formed in 2015 when director Alison Riley returned to Toronto after living and working in New York City for many years.
Since then, Alison has worked on a wide range of art consulting, collection management, and appraisal projects for clients. The firm has worked on a variety of appraisals for different purposes, including insurance, donation, potential sales, as well as artist archives and estates based in Canada and USA.

Alison Riley is an Accredited Member of the Appraisers Association of America [AAA] and the International Society of Appraisers [ISA], specializing in photography and image-based media, and has maintained USPAP [Uniform Standards and Professional Appraisal Practice] education credentials since 2012.
Prior to her working full-time as an appraiser and advisor, Alison worked in various art-world positions ranging from non-profit fundraising and development to sales in commercial photography galleries.
She received her Master of Art in the History of Photography & Contemporary Practices from Sotheby’s Institute of Art, London and her Bachelor of Fine Art in Photography from Toronto Metropolitan University (previously Ryerson University).
